A 'Graco' type travel cot is available along with a 'Mothercare' blue buggy for use by guests on a first booked first served dates. Please specify when booking so they can be allocated to you for placement in your apartment upon arrival ie. moved between Los Geranios and Ocean Park apartments.

The apart-hotel is on seven floors and consists of 157 apartments comprising private owners from UK, etc., and also tour operated rented flats, by management from UK, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Scandinavia, etc.

The 24 hour reception can assist with most needs and there is also night security staff which caters for those arriving anytime, although the apartment key is issued in UK upon receipt of balance money due 4 weeks prior to departure, so it is only necessary to hand over the 'yellow accommodation booking form' (which is issued by me upon booking) upon arrival, along with passport which they will return. The complex technical "Technico" staff also retain keys for apartment access for meter readings and in event of emergency. At reception they will give you a red registration card for late night-morning entrance. Upon return to UK simply post back the keys in the pre-paid mail lite jiffy bag provided.

The apartments each have a telephone, which receives incoming calls only. You can be contacted from UK via Los Geranios reception on 00-34-922-716610. When prompted by telemessage dial in; 1208 for A208, 1210 for A210, 1211 for A211, 1310 for A310, 1408 for A408, 1604 for A604, 1605 for A605, etc. For the Studios the numbers are 4062 for S62, 4063 for S63, S64, S65, S38 etc and similar for the 1 beds 81, 82 & 85. The fax number at reception is 00-34-922-712210.

Each apartment has a safe box and its key is either provided with door key or digital dafe box in apartment for your use during your holiday. The reception also has safety deposit boxes for money/valuables, located adjacent to the lift doors, which are available to rent if need be. The reception has a telephone booth from which you can make direct calls to anywhere, on request to reception. It is simpler and more cost effective to call from blue telephone booths on streets, with a handfull of 1, 2 euro coins.

There is a coin operated laundry in the garage area near reception entrance, but all apartments have washing machines except apartment 210. Ask reception for info. Apartment No. 84 can be made available to my guests for use where late checkouts/ flights are incurred.

The building has two (2) lifts which serve all floors from the reception area. At the reception / restaurant there is a computer for internet access available, example: for 10 minutes I think it's 1 Euro? A cheaper option is to use the internet cafe opposite the entrance to the main mercadona supermarket across the road in the San Eugenio shopping centre.

The balcony of most 1 bedroom apartments with pool and sea views have sun for most of the day, and overlook the kidney shaped swimming pool. The studios and lower 1 bed apartments have a balcony with sea / mountain views. Each have two sun reclining sunloungers, along with a table, four chairs, and a fold out drying line. Each apartment has a mop, brush, bucket, etc for your use as necessary during stay.

At the swimming pool there are sun loungers, which are shared, on a first come basis (be quick, as the "Brits" try to get there first or simply enjoy your own space on the sun recliner chairs or loungers on your balcony.)

The pool is scaled for kid's shallow end, to adults deep end. The pool is heated in the winter months.

A main Mercadona supermarket is located in the San eugenio centre only 100 metres away, down escalators to lower shopping mall in the red/brown building located on the right side as you go out of the complex. Foods, drinks, etc. are most economically priced there. (It is similar to large Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys etc. type UK supermarket.) Normally open 9.30am to 8pm, but not on Sunday.

An outside 'flea market' of clothing, jewellery, fashions, house stuffs, souveniers, etc. is held each Thursday & Saturday from 9 am - 3pm at Torviscas Market, which is located in front of the El Duque Hotel. (A must for cheap/copied; but usable items!!) Don't forget to look in the Spanish style shops in the shopping centre across the road.

Brochures for full holiday excursions, places to go and see, things to do, etc. are available at the aparthotel reception, and a holiday guide book is in the apartment which gives details of many different entertainment / bars / restaurants local to Los Geranios. Car hire available at reception and also from two other companies, across the road (cheaper and easier across the paved road). For discount car rental deals please ask with your enquiry or at a date before departure.

A typical car hire price for Tenerife would be a small Renault or Seat for 3 days for less than £50 GBP. Remember you need your driving licence and passport.

Duty free goods are considered cheaper in supermarket / Spanish Style / local markets, etc. than UK airports or in-flight service. Take your in-flight magazine and compare to local shops / markets. 'Spanish Style'(in centre area at Mercadona Centre) shops are recommended for booze, fags, souveniers. The perfumaria shops have good deals on all products compared to the airport.

Each 1 bedroomed upper floor apartment consists of 2 single beds in the bedroom, 1 bed-settee in the living room, which pulls out into a double bed or "Z" mattress bed and a further single sofa. The bathroom with shower, bath, toilet, W.H.B., is fully equipped. Hot + cold water is provided via the electric water heater. All my owned apartments bathrooms have been re-fitted and tiled in spring / summer of 2007.

Within the apartment / studio it has the usual furnitures and fixtures and also the following items;

* Combination oven, grill & microwave - 30 litre

The kitchenette off the living room has an electric hob, refrigerator, sink, etc. and the usual range of kitchen appliances/gadgets, etc. A socket outlet of 13 Amp UK style is fitted, so no adaptors are needed for mobile phone chargers.

Both the bedroom and living room have 3 speed pull cord 'coolie' fans with lights. Separate pull cords for fan or light or both.

Each apartment is provided with change of bed linens and towels each week and these are exchanged, normally mid-way, say in a 2 week period, dependant on duration of stay. General cleaning and tidiness is the responsibility of the apartment visitors. Apartment shall be cleaned and ready for next visitors upon your departure. Normal exit time is 10.00 am upon day of departure, however I try to accommodate late check outs so please advise flight times upon payment of balance. The apartment has two bath towels and one hand towel per person per week. I suggest that you take with you adequate towels as being hot, showering, pool, beach has much need and towels are used more than many unused clothes taken with you!! Any special requests can be catered for by simply specifying your requirements a few weeks before arrival.

The apartments are double security locked from entrance door and requires two full turns and a quarter turn to open, anti clockwise. The balcony door has separate key inside which remains in position.

Early morning wake-up call can be provided by advising reception the night before and also booking of taxi or they can be flagged down anytime, anywhere, or don't bother going to bed! Taxi time to/from airport is 15 minutes approx., and normally check-in 2 hours before departure time. The day prior to departure it is advisable to check airline at reception by re-confirming your names and tickets.

Banks and money exchange facilitites are all available near at hand with +/- differing rates, however the "Spanish Style" shops have normally good rates. "Admiral Travel" do a healthy exchange rate and a very wide range of trips / excursions / parks / etc.

It is possible to leave your suitcases at the reception / seating area, should you have a late departure, or use a late check-out apartment No. 84for using as shower / change and suitcase storage (subject to availability) before late departure for my guests, and includes washing machine / drying facilites, store for bedlinen towels, etc. Booked guests must state their requirements prior to issue of keys in UK.

Steve my Tenerife maintenance man is on call should any technical issues arise with accidental lock-out, safe box operation or other and his numbers along with Nicki's admin / cleaning are in the apartment and issued also with the keys in UK. Just give him or Nicki a text for any technical issue.

The studios and 1 beds are on the west wing of Los Geranios and do not have pool views but have varying views - part sea and part mountain. They are typically the same as my one bedroom apartments with furnishings and appliances. As for size / floor area they are only a few square metres less in floor area.

TENERIFE

Tenerife is the largest and the most popular of the Canary Islands. Its location off the north west coast of Africa ensures a glorious year round climate that produces vast scenic contrasts running from tropical beauty in the north - particularly at the foot of the lush Orotava valley - to arid, more barren landscapes in the south.

Volcanic Mt Teide and 'moonscape' surroundings

The awesome presence of Spain's largest peak, Mount Teide is a constant reminder of Tenerife's volcanic heritage and some of the beaches even have black volcanic sands. The colours found on Tenerife are terrific. Palm trees and banana plantations form the backdrop to all kinds of tropical flowers and shrubs, and you'll also find quite a colourful bunch of people on the island too! Tenerife can be a home away from home, with its many British style pubs and restaurants. However the culinary tastes of the more adventurous are also catered for in the multitude of bars and restaurants on offer. Your daytime treats include shopping trips, watersports and golf (there are four 18-hole courses on the island), and of course the wide choice of sunkissed beaches. You can round off your pleasure filled days by enjoying the night life of the towns, particularly in that of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos.

A popular choice with British holidaymakers, basking in the sunny south of the island. There is always plenty to do, whether it is splashing out at the fabulous water park or thrill seeking at Siam Park, browsing around the shops, relaxing in the cafes and the restaurants, or at night revelling in the numerous bars and night clubs, many of which are located in the famous Veronicas centre. The unusual dark volcanic beaches are also very popular.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Octopus Aqua Park

A favourite with children and adults alike, the Octopus Aqua park is situated above Playa de las Americas, with large saltwater pools, hydro slides, etc. it's a great day out. In high season, the best days to go are Friday and Tuesday, as these are the main flight days and the park is at its quietest. It is inadvisable to go on the weekend because, as well as holiday makers, the park is a favourite with the Spanish schoolchildren who tend to take over the place on Saturday/Sunday.

There are a good many professional lifeguards at the park so it is quite safe for children to swim unsupervised. The dolphin show is well worth a visit and included in the entrance fee.

Before going to the aqua park for the day, remember the following points:

• Jewellery cannot be worn on the slides, so leave all rings, necklaces, etc. at your apartment. (See safebox)
  

• There are a couple of cafés and bars at the park but they are quite expensive.
  
• The aqua park is a phenomenal suntrap!!

The Siam Park

A wonderful new theme park with adrenaline pumping attractions, animals and childrens play area with many and varied water rides. It is located just outside Playa de las Americas and can walk to it in 15 minutes so very easily accessible. Opening winter late 2008

The Loro Parque Translated this means 'Parrot Park', but you will find much more than talking birds here. One of the best days out in Tenerife, the Loro Parque is in Puerto del la Cruz, in the north of the island. There are regular buses from most resorts, but if you want to be adventurous and not be tied to a timetable, you can find it easily by car: Take the TF1 to Santa Cruz, where you join the TF5, which will take you to Puerto del la Cruz, then simply follow the signs to the Loro Parque which are easily spotted. Look for a picture of a parrot and a dolphin. From Playa de las Americas, the journey will take just over an hour. The park is worth visiting for the dolphin show alone, which is held several times a day, as well as the sea lion show, the shark tunnel (the longest in Europe), the bat cave, tigers, gorillas, and of course the parrot show. You must visit planet penguin! Before going to Loro Parque, remember the following points: Upon entering the park, you will be given a timetable of the shows. Take a few minutes to work out where the show arenas are, and plan your visit around the timetable, giving yourself plenty of time to get to the arenas before the show starts. If you are late for the dolphin show, you won't be allowed in! There are bars and restaurants scattered around the park, but like the Aqua Park, they are quite expensive. The weather in the north of the island is usually very different to that in the south. If you are travelling from the south you will usually find it a lot cooler, so take a pullover or cardigan.
